continuation of my trip!
day 3- 18th december 'o6
hunagshan day! it was FAN-TAS-TIC! had a one hour drive up to huangshan and we lunched at the midpoint between ground level and the cable car. the coach drove us up to the cable car station and stopped us there.
there were people waiting there and when we came, they immediately started pestering us to let them carry our bags for money up the mountain. it was super funny, because they were trying to discourage us instead of encouraging us so that they can make money lol
before we could take the cable car, we had to climb a really long flight of steps- easily almost 10 stories i think. the family of 8 in our tour group couldn't even make it up to the cable car, so they didnt go, which was really a pity because this is the best part of the trip.
we trekked for like 5 hours. we didn't walk on flat land- we spent most of the time climbing or going down steps. its really scary, because we're really high up- huangshan is 1860m tall and one look down, you can see the valley and that you're really, really high up. all the steps are really steep and each step isnt enough to hold your foot, so we really had to concentrate on each step. futhermore, most flight of steps had no railings at all, so if you don't pay attention and trip, well that's goodbye to you.
the person i really gotta thank is my brother! he was my walking stick throughout the whole climb and i really clung onto him as we climbed because i was terrified of slipping. without him, i wouldnt be able to make it up in one piece HEH. thanks kor <3>
we reached the hotel at about 6 plus, because we climbed from qian shan(front) to hou shan(back) and we continued trekking in the dark! we finally reached the hotel and what a relief! the hotel was really, really good and the room was super cosy (: just nice for a good rest after climbing a mountain (: some photos!

they even have a complaining centre! O.O
my tour group!

at guang ming ding- where zhang wu zi was! they filmed the wu xia xiao shuo up here
the sunset- its beautiful

at ying ke song- the famous pine tree

view from the cable car
this is the kind of steps that we have to clim- endless and some have no railings at all!

FYI: see the man climbing? the two weights on each side of the stick weigh 100kg each. these people climb huangshan everyday with these weights. they're damn strong, but also very poor thing- imagine climbing up huangshan everyday with 100kg on each side!

okay im done with huangshan! (: i have to go to bed now though- school's starting tomorrow! BOO anyway the photos above are in random order- i'll blog about the rest of the days tmr (:
